1. JESUS CHRIST IS THE SAVIOUR OF THE
WORLD.
For unto you is born this day in the city of David A
SAVIOUR, which is Christ the Lord.
Luke 2:11
And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the
Son to be THE SAVIOUR of the world.
1 John 4:14
The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew
and hanged on a tree. Him hath God exalted with his
right hand to be a Prince and A SAVIOUR, for to give
repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.
Acts 5:30-31
2. WHAT DID JESUS COME TO SAVE US FROM?
JESUS CAME TO SAVE US FROM OUR SINS.
Jesus did not come to save us from a lack of electricity.
Jesus did not come to save us from a lack of education.
Jesus did not come to save us from a lack of schools.
Jesus did not come to save us from a lack of roads.
Jesus did not come to save us from a lack of hospitals.
Jesus did not come to save us from a lack of good water.
When Jesus came to this world, there was no electricity in
Jerusalem.
When Jesus came to this world, there were probably no
good roads in Jerusalem.
When Jesus came to this world, there were no universities
in Jerusalem.
But Jesus Christ did not correct any of these things.
So what did Jesus come to save us from? He came to save
us from our sins!
But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of
the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph,
thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife:
for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.
And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his
name JESUS: for HE SHALL SAVE HIS PEOPLE FROM
THEIR SINS.
Matthew 1:20-21
3. JESUS THE SAVIOUR IS ABLE TO SAVE US
FROM OUR SINS BECAUSE OF THE POWER IN
HIS BLOOD.
a. Christ died on the cross and shed His Blood so we could
have FORGIVENESS FOR ALL OUR SINS through His
blood. Thank God for the blood of Jesus!
In whom we have redemption through his blood, THE
FORGIVENESS OF SINS, according to the riches of his
grace;
Ephesians 1:7
b. Christ Jesus the Saviour, shed His blood on the cross so that
we could be cleansed from our sins through the blood of
Jesus.
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have
fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ
his Son CLEANSETH US FROM ALL SIN.
1 John 1:7
c. Every one of us is a sinner and we deserve to be punished
for our sins. The punishment for all our sins is death.
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Romans 3:23
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal
life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Romans 6:23
How many of us have told a lie before? All of us!
How many of us have stolen something before? All of us!
How many of us have murdered someone before? All of us
because if you hate your brother you are a murderer.
How many of us have committed fornication before? All
of us because if you look at a woman lustfully, you have
already committed fornication with her.
It is clear that we are all sinners.
