For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given:
and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and
his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The
mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of
Peace.
Isaiah 9:6
1. “The government shall be upon his shoulder”.
This prophecy was given 800 years before Jesus was born.
The prophecy said that the government would be upon His
shoulder. This means that Jesus shall take over the ruling and
the governing of this world. This is Good News because all
over the world, people are wondering what is happening to
their governments. Every country should be crying for Jesus
to come and take over the ruling of this world.
2. He will be called “Wonderful”. Why would this
child be called “Wonderful”?
It was predicted that Jesus would be full of wonders. That
is why He was called “Wonderful”. Jesus did many wonderful things! He walked on water! Have you seen anyone walking on
water before?
Jesus was called “Wonderful” because He healed the sick.
Jesus healed those who could not hear. He healed a woman who
had been bleeding for 12 years. A woman should bleed for 3 to
5 days but this one had been bleeding for 12 years. Jesus met a
mad man living in the cemetery and healed him.
3. He shall be called Counsellor.
Jesus spoke with great wisdom. He spoke the words of a great
Counsellor. He said amazing things no one could say. “I am the
way, the truth, and the life”. “You can only come to the Father
by me”. “I am the bread of life.”
4. He shall be called Mighty God.
He did what only God could do. Lazarus was dead for four
days and he was resurrected. All the miracles of Jesus prove that
He was a mighty God in our midst.
5. He shall be called Everlasting Father.
Tonight if you will come to Him He will be your Father.
